Position Overview:The Director, Education & Outreach, Latino Community will work in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Programs and Health Equity to develop strategic approaches for the Latino Community, including program planning, community and caregiver education, outreach, and community partnerships. The Director, Education & Outreach, Latino Community (Director) provides leadership and oversight of all education department programs for Latinos and is responsible for creating and delivering culturally and linguistically competent services and activities to Latinos in Los Angeles County. Additionally, the Director will supervise staff in order to strategically develop relationships within and deliver culturally competent programming with a special focus for the Spanish speaking community.
This is a hybrid position requiring some in-person work in our offices, and significant in-person work in the community in/around Los Angeles County. Some weekend and evening work will be required.

Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee a Latino Dementia Care Network for Los Angeles County by recruiting participants, fostering engagement, and ensuring its ongoing growth and sustainability.
- Supervise and mentor Latino Community staff, with a special focus on the Spanish speaking community
- Plan and implement strategic program goals for community and caregiver education, outreach, and community partnerships including evidence-based caregiver interventions throughout Los Angeles County.
- Develop educational material, curriculum, trainings, events, and products that meet the cultural and linguistic needs of Latinos in Los Angeles
- Prepare and monitor education budgets
- Provide or coordinate Spanish translation of written materials
- Deliver educational workshops and presentations to diverse audiences, including caregivers, the general public, faith-based communities, and seniors, offering evidence-based caregiver interventions and other educational content in English and Spanish.
- Conduct interviews, speak on panels and at conferences, and speak at other events
- Deliver grant related activities and events; ensure grant obligations and deliverables are achieved.
- Support social media efforts to the Spanish speaking community (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring documentation is completed for all education and outreach efforts, including quarterly reports, data entry into Education & Outreach databases and calendars.
- Contribute to the development of culturally tailored educational materials (brochures, presentations, etc.).
- Attend and participate in community meetings and networking events.
- Incorporate advocacy and fund development into programs and services as appropriate
- Participate in resource fairs, health fairs, etc. when appropriate/as needed
- Provide and maintain lists of Alzheimer’s LA collateral dissemination (libraries, organizations, etc.)
