Description Position Summary: The Child and Family Counselor will provide individual and group treatment services to children, youth and families in the Los Angeles area in accordance with the standards of professional practice an agency policy and procedures. Major Responsibilities: Outreach to engage referred individuals in program services, including telephone screening and home visits as needed. Conducts psychosocial assessments of families. Develops a treatment or service plan for family and individuals. Provides therapeutic services (individual child, youth or adult, family or group counseling). Assess/evaluates client progress and treatment effectiveness; obtains needed documentation and prepare reports. Provides case management and advocacy. Provides crisis intervention when needed to families, individuals, children and adults. Meets treatment goals for their caseload as indicated by evaluation measures. Establishes and maintains a relationship with referral sources such as Department of Children’s Services, Probation and schools and other appropriate social service agencies. Keep current and complete paper and/or electronic files on all counseling clients. Adheres to all mandated reporting, agency policies and documentation requirements. | ||||||||||||||||||||
|
Skills Master degree in social work, marriage and family therapy. Licensure as AMFT, ACSW in active status with State of California BBS. Two years experience providing counseling/mental health services to children, youth and/or families. Bilingual English Spanish preferred. Willing to meet clients outside of office. | ||||||||||||||||||||
