Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000
Program Description:Next Step is Project Renewal’s award-winning job placement program which helps individuals with histories of homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and justice involvement to prepare for, find, and retain employment. Programming includes pre-employment services, soft skills training, sector-based trainings, digital literacy, financial literacy, case management, job retention, career advancement and alumni services. Project Renewal enrolls 500 clients in Next Step each year and consistently achieves job placement and retention outcomes that exceed the national average for programs serving similar populations.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for the overall performance of sector-based trainings within Next Step which includes the well-established Next Step Internship Program (NSIP), an 8-week training program for careers in homeless services, and the Career Advancement Program (CAP), which focuses on long-term career advancement for NSIP alumni working in the social services field.
The Assistant Program Director will possess strong supervisory and administrative skills and the ability to interface effectively and efficiently with colleagues to ensure quality services and program operations. They will
will manage, supervise and lead a team on all aspects of their program portfolio including but not limited to meeting performance goals in recruitment, enrollment, placement, retention, wage growth, and on-going career advancement. The Assistant Program Director plays a critical role in partnership development, as well as managing key relationships within Next Step and Project Renewal to ensure the best service possible to clients and partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Next Step, the Assistant Program Director’s scope of work will include, but not limited to:
Manage day-to-day program operations ensuring compliance with all contracts and stakeholders expectations.
Provides supportive coaching to staff on an individualized basis that adequately supports the growth and development of the staff.
Oversee all program components including program recruitment & retention, training and curriculum development, client assessments, internship development, and job placement and retention.
Provide strategic leadership and guidance; work amongst cross-functional lines to ensure programs align with the funder/organizational performance goals and objectives
Set clear performance expectations for the team and conduct regular evaluations to assess their effectiveness. Provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and support areas of improvement.
