Description
Morongo Band of Mission Indians is seeking a Social Services Director to plan, organize and direct the overall operations and activities of community and social services including Substance Abuse Prevention, Child and Family Services; DV Advocates; Provide advocacy and expertise in current ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) cases; coordinate and direct personnel, resources and communications to meet identified Tribal community and social service needs and assure smooth and efficient activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or related field and ten (10) years increasingly responsible experience in the development and implementation of organizational programs, projects, budgets and services including two years in an administrative capacity. Master’s degree preferred.
-Valid California driver’s license and insurability on company policy.
-A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
-Management of operations, activities and social services of assigned community and social services departments and programs.
-Community and social service principles, terminology, practices and techniques related to assigned area of specialty.
-Current community and social service theories, issues and trends related to assigned programs.
-Principles and practices of community and social service management including program and project planning and evaluation functions.
-Local, State and federal standards and requirements governing assigned areas; applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
-Community resources providing social services related to assigned areas of specialty.
-Principles and practices of administration, supervision and training; policies and objectives of assigned programs and activities.
-Budget preparation and control.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), internet software and appropriate storage of electronic files.
-Public relations techniques; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; establish and maintain contact with community resources providing community and social services and assistance to the Tribe.
-Plan, organize and direct the operations, activities of community and social service departments and programs; coordinate and direct personnel, resources and communications to meet identified Tribal community and social service needs and assure smooth and efficient activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
-Participate in the research, development and implementation of community and social services, systems, standards, practices, programs, projects, policies and procedures.
-Provide consultation concerning operations and related community and social service activities.
-Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; assure proper and timely resolution of issues and problems.
-Plan and organize work; meet schedules and timelines; work independently with little direction.
-Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports; direct the maintenance of a variety of reports, records and files related to assigned activities.
