The Far Rockaway Program Director is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of a multi-faceted social services program for the residents of Far Rockaway. Supervise two Resident Services Specialist that will provide the following services: assessment, case planning, referrals, and case management, individual counseling. In addition to supervising the Administrative Assistant, Coordinator, Outreach Specialist, volunteers & intern supervision. Works with the Far Rockaway Tenant Association, and community-based organizations to ensure that the program is responsive to the resident’s range of needs present in this diverse community.Salary range for this role will be $70,000.00 to $75,000.00, based on education, training and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide management and supervision to Far Rockaway program.
Responsible for: interviewing, hiring, evaluating all staff.
Schedule: monthly supervision with staff, as well as monthly staff meetings.
Participate in professional development training.
Participate in internal and external committee meetings.
Prepare board reports, and present at board meetings.
Prepare monthly reports to submit to supervisor.
Plan innovative events and activities for residents at Far Rockaway.
Supervise staff, interns, and volunteers.
Develop case management plan with client profile, needs assessment, service plan, tracking forms, and release forms for participants.
Conduct outreach to the residents of Far Rockaway to provide flyers, newsletters, and updates related to Phipps Neighborhoods Programs.
Conduct surveys of the needs of residents at Far Rockaway.
Provide ongoing case management to ensure residents’ needs are being met.
Organize, promote, and implement recreation, education, and cultural activities.
Liaison with local service providers and community-based organization.
Prepare monthly reports and maintain related records as required.
Make referrals to: Financial Counseling, and host financial workshops on site with local financial institutions.
Support residents with rent arrears, re-certifications, applying for benefits, and relocations.
Ensuring that residents are enrolled in: educational & training opportunities, as well as workforce development.
Conduct outreach for residents to participate in weekly projects and activities.
Ensure that orders are placed in Yardi, and that bills are paid with invoices.
Responsible for the oversight and operations of the Far Rockaway Opportunity Ctr.
Input document information into database system Salesforce.
Identify volunteers to facilitate workshops.
Assist in program evaluation.
Coordinate with Phipps Neighborhoods Programs to enroll residents into programs.
Serve as liaison to NYC agencies and community stockholders.
Meet quarterly with Property Management Team.
Hold quarterly Partnership meetings to identify the needs of the program.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or Human Services, Master’s Degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Computer literate. Ability to handle web-based databases to input client data daily.
